Denver, Colorado – RockWest Technology Group (www.rockwesttech.com) recently integrated Salamander Technologies’ interTRAX PIV into it’s full line of identity management solutions for federal, state, and local government. RTG’s ID suite provides a resource management solution for emergency first responders that brings together the essential functions of FIPS 201-compliant Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credentials and on-site incident management as mandated by the National Incident Management System (NIMS). By combining these functions, emergency responders are able to effectively bridge the gap between HSPD-12 (identification) and HSPD-5 (accountability) by allowing emergency response officials to have the unprecedented ability to verify identities, control site access, build an organizational structure, and manage resources throughout the incident with one seamless application executed through a single handheld system.
Whether it is done on-site or remotely from a central command center, issuing a verified credential is critical to the successful management of any incident. Explains Matt McDaniel, President of Sales for RTG, “We identified a unique synergy between our credential management system and Salamander’s TRAX accountability systems for tracking responders, volunteers, and victims at an emergency incident. By blending these solutions into one application and one handheld device, any FRAC credential-based solution can be integrated with a complete resource management solution – from the PIV card to the web.”
With interTRAX, users can not only validate each responder at the site, but also benefit from situational awareness of who is at the site, what each responder’s qualifications are, where they are assigned, and each arrival, departure, or status check. Continues McDaniel, “Our interTRAX solution is designed around common on-site incident SOPs with constant attention paid to emerging federal directives and initiatives in order to enable emergency response officials to remain compliant.”
RTG has also recently implemented the interTRAX PIV system in the State of Colorado in several counties and at Buckley Air Force Base. Says David Callaghan, Director of Professional
Services for RTG, “Local implementation, training, and system maintenance services are critical to the successful adoption of FIPS-201 standards at a state level. Our ability to respond with local technicians and systems engineers within hours, even to rural areas, will aid tremendously in the sustainability of these important government ID programs.”
