FISHERS, INDIANA - The Indestructo shower is featured in the January 2010 issue of FireRescue magazine. Reviewed in the Gear Test Tools News Techniques section of the magazine, the Indestructo was found to be a “great addition to [a] hazmat arsenal.” The reviewer, an assistant fire chief and deputy fire marshal, found the shower to be easy to assemble, easy to maneuver and work around, and the shower spray to be even and complete.
The newly updated Indestructo Decon Shower meets the flow rates, spray pattern, and other performance characteristics set by the ANSI/ISEA 113-2008 standard. The Indestructo is constructed of ABS thermoplastic which is made from a combination of monomers made from propylene, ammonia, butane, and coal. ABS is strong and rigid rather than PVC which has less resilience. This makes the Indestructo highly durable, even when used in the most rugged emergency response conditions. The Indestructo assembles rapidly using quick-connecting locks, and has a fully collapsible design to allow for convenient storage in an easy-to-carry vinyl bag. Two attached windscreens reduce overspray. The shower can be set up in under three minutes, ensuring a rapid response time.
