BLOXOM, Va. — Volunteer firefighters in this small town were battling a house fire when they got a second call -- their own firehouse was ablaze.
By the time they raced back to their two-storey station early Wednesday, fire had destroyed much of the structure. Firefighters were also unable to save the other house.
“People were crying,” said Kimberly Midgett, a department member.
