30 Graduate From The Houston Fire Department

Fire Chief Phil Boriskie will give the Oath of Office to 30 new firefighters during a graduation ceremony August 17, 2006 at 7 p.m. at the Wortham Center, Cullen Theater, 500 Texas. Most of these future firefighters are medics and began the academy in May 2005.

“I am honored to congratulate these trainees for their graduation from the Val Jahnke Fire Training Facility,” said Chief Boriskie. “They are entering a rewarding career that is dedicated to saving lives and protecting the property of the citizens of Houston.”

The Houston Fire Department has two more fire trainee classes that will begin in September and November. Applicants for these two classes have already taken the exam and are in the process of finishing their applicant process.

There are no exams scheduled at this time, however citizens may look for future civil service exam announcements on the HFD website at www.houstonfire.org or by calling the HFD Fire Trainee Recruiting office at 713-495-4266.
