Join the Fire Department Safety Officers Association and fire professionals nationwide for the 2007 FDSOA Annual Safety Forum from October 28 - November 2 in Orlando, Fla., for what promises to be a week of education and awareness.

Kick off the event attending one or both of two 16-hour seminars designed for those who wish to become certified Health and Safety Officers and Incident Safety Officers.

Spend the rest of the week networking with peers and participating in seminars on subjects that range from reading smoke and scene safety to fire apparatus liability and safety issues, learning from such fire service greats as Chief Billy Hayes, Riverdale GA Fire Department; Dr. James L. Fleming, DO, MPH, Medical Director, Phoenix AZ Fire Department Health Center; Battalion Chief John Tippett, IAFC Project Director, and Assistant Chief Curtis Verone, Providence RI Fire Department to name but a few.

Other seminars include:
• Developing Authentic Leadership
• New Vehicle Technology & Responder Safety
• Cancer Risks Associated With Firefighting
• Accident Investigation - Real Life Accident Incidents
• The Courage To Be Safe

Barry Barquest, Battalion Chief - Safety, East Pierce WA Fire and Rescue, said after last year’s event, “The speakers were very informative and the information was stuff you can use on the street.”

The FDSOA was established in 1989 as a non-profit association, incorporated in Massachusetts. Its mission is to promote safety standards and practices in the fire, rescue and emergency services community.

The association is dedicated to the issues that affect a Safety Officer’s role in protecting and promoting the safety and health responsibilities of their departments, communities and themselves.

Don’t miss your opportunity to join your peers and take some safety home with you this year at the 2007 FDSOA Annual Safety Forum in Orlando, Fla.
