Memex Joins NetConnect Alliance, Endorses NetConnect Integration Platform for Justice and Public Safety

VIENNA, VA & CASTLE HAYNE, NC – Memex, Inc., the leading worldwide provider of intelligence-management and analysis solutions, today announced that Memex has become a Participating Member of the NetConnect Alliance, which is managed by VisionAIR, Inc. The NetConnect Alliance is a growing consortium of vendors who provide the Justice and Public Safety industry with a vendor-neutral, standards-based suite of solutions for integration and interoperability. NetConnect enables integration and data sharing at three levels: within an agency, within a jurisdiction and across jurisdictions.

Memex has proven experience in information sharing, and the Memex intelligence solution supports the recently mandated Global Justice XML Data Model (GJXDM) standard. The Memex system allows law enforcement agencies to gather, collate, track, analyze and disseminate intelligence information, including counterterrorism tips and leads. The system is used in a number of agencies to counteract conventional criminal activity, including street gangs, organized crime, money laundering and high-volume crimes.

The Memex suite will provide powerful analysis and visualization tools across existing intelligence databases while providing standard functions for the collection and management of intelligence and information in accordance with federal and local guidelines. The flexibility of the Memex system also provides a secure platform for agencies to develop multi-jurisdictional intelligence-sharing initiatives with law-enforcement partners across United States.

According to Mike Himley, General Manager, Memex, Inc., “Developing a secure and scalable system of information sharing and analysis is one of the most critical issues faced by law enforcement and homeland security agencies today. Memex is excited about joining the alliance for a number of reasons. First the alliance is vendor-neutral, based on open standards like GJXDM and web services. In addition, the NetConnect Alliance offers a powerful network of partners with complementary leading edge technologies”.

Mike Lyons, CEO of VisionAIR, added, “As the new administrators of the NetConnect Alliance, VisionAIR is excited to welcome Memex as a new Participating Member. The proven success of Memex technology and their domain expertise in the law enforcement information sharing field will add tremendous value to the Alliance.”
