BIO-key Launches New Wireless Mobile Fire Inspection Solution at Fire Rescue International Conference in Denver

Major New Product Module Offers New Capability for Every RMS Installed Customer to Improve Field Inspection Productivity, Quality and Cost

DENVER, Colo. - BIO-key International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BKYI), the leader in finger-based biometric identification and wireless public safety solutions, announced the introduction of MobileInspections™ at the Fire Rescue International Conference here in the Colorado Convention Center.

MobileInspections™ is a mobile application for fire inspections that provides engine companies and inspectors with a powerful new tool to perform occupancy inspections over a wireless or synced connection. The pen-tablet based system eliminates redundant data entry, provides real-time updates to critical information systems and immediate notification of code violations. MobileInspections™ brings wireless ease-of-use technology into the field, saving time and money by making the inspections process more efficient for thousands of fire inspectors and their departments nationwide.

Mike DePasquale, BIO-key’s CEO, said, “MobileInspections™ is a magnificent product that every one of our more than 1000 installed fire department customers can use today. It provides powerful new features and functionality that our customers need and have been asking for. The revenue potential for this product to BIO-key over the next 24 months is significant.”

Additionally, BIO-key announced Enterprise FireRMS™ 5.0 a wireless and mobile version of the company’s flagship comprehensive fire records management suite. FireRMS™ 5.0 provides all the robust and acclaimed features of FireRMS™ 4.0 and takes it to a complete mobile and wireless environment.

With over six months of actual use in the field, the South San Francisco command staff identified new requirements and has chosen to upgrade to the full Enterprise version of BIO-key’s FireRMS. Enhanced reporting, modules for managing Occupancies & Inspections, Scheduling & Tracking and Daybook are some of the features included in the enterprise version.

South San Francisco Deputy Fire Chief, Richard Dennin, said, “BIO-key’s Enterprise edition of FireRMS opens the door for even greater department efficiencies, for example, the new mobile version of FireRMS will help our inspectors become more efficient, saving time and ultimately improving the safety of firefighters and citizens
alike.”

Utilizing standard Microsoft technology, FireRMS Mobile gives users the ability to access and/or update critical information in the field. The new mobile solution can function both wirelessly and/or disconnected from a network, ensuring operation anytime, anywhere.

FireRMS Mobile operates on Microsoft Windows® XP Tablet 2005 devices, allowing Fire Inspectors to quickly select items from drop-down lists with the tap of a stylus. The elimination of paper inspection forms serves to streamline the inspection process and eliminate redundant data.

DePasquale concluded, “Prior to the general availability of FireRMS Mobile this week, working models of the new wireless inspection tool were shown to existing customers in venues across North America. Fire Chiefs and Fire Inspectors enthusiastically responded to the new mobile solution indicating that efficiency gains from an automated wireless mobile solution will help them ensure that buildings are inspected on time, improving safety for both firefighters and the general public.”

BIO-key’s FireRMS™ solutions are the most widely deployed enterprise-class RMS applications, serving more than 1,000 fire agencies nationwide.
