Mobile Concepts by Scotty president and CEO, Anne Degre, urges fire departments to supplement their fire prevention mission with FACTS about the home fire sprinkler initiative.
Mount Pleasant, PA — The Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition, as well as Mobile Concepts, are promoting awareness for residential sprinkler installation.
Mobile Concepts is the only company that manufactures a combination sprinkler demonstration and fire safety house. These vehicles are used to educate the public on the effectiveness of residential sprinklers as well as debunking common myths about the systems.
Degre explains, “The sprinkler education program can be compared to the smoke detector educational programs of the 1970s. People did not know what they were, and the rumors about them were running rampant.”
The same can be said for the residential sprinkler initiative. The only way to raise awareness is through public education.
The combination sprinkler demonstration/ fire safety house contains a live burn room which demonstrates how quickly a small flame can turn into a blazing fire and just as quickly be extinguished with a sprinkler system.
Large Lexan windows allow spectators to witness the demonstration on the exterior of either side of the vehicle. Classroom and/or fire safety house features are located on the interior to allow for further explanation and education classes for the public.
