Sponsored by

FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program opens Monday, November 8.

Cincinnati (November 5, 2021) MagneGrip is once again helping fire and EMS departments across the country apply for funds available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The funds are through the Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG) program, which provides financial aid for critical training and equipment. According to this year’s notice of funding, the AFG program will provide approximately 2,500 grants totaling $414 million. The application period for this year’s grants runs from November 8 through December 17, 2021.

Because of the widely documented risks to firefighter health and safety from inhalation of diesel exhaust and particulates, the installation of exhaust removal and air purification systems in apparatus bays is considered critical equipment for helping to reduce death and injuries to first responders.

MagneGrip provides free assistance to fire and EMS departments applying for AFG grants for exhaust removal equipment. MagneGrip’s free grant assistance program helps departments meet application criteria by providing:

  • Personal assistance by grant experts
  • Grant writing training
  • Narrative review

Optional grant writing also is available to fire and EMS departments at a 50 percent discount through FireGrantsHelp.com, an independent resource sponsored by MagneGrip.

MagneGrip’s Exhaust Removal System is the only 100 percent sealed magnetic system meeting the NFPA 1500 Standard for diesel exhaust removal. And its AirHAWK Air Purification System provides four stages of filtration with its unique, patented Photo-Catalytic Oxidation process. The combination of the these systems provides the most complete protection from airborne toxins that can lead to cancer from inside the fire station. And Both systems are eligible to be covered by an AFG grant.
