GROVE CITY, OH – Horton Emergency Vehicles, a subsidiary of REV Group Inc., and a leader in ambulance safety, announces the first Horton ambulance equipped with the Horton Occupant Protection System™ (HOPS) featuring MBrace™ has been delivered to New Orleans EMS for active duty.
Engineered by IMMI, MBrace is a patent-pending advanced airbag safety system designed specifically to protect emergency care providers against head and neck injuries while they are inside the patient compartment during frontal impacts, in addition to ambulance rollovers. MBrace integrates an airbag into an innovative multi-point restraint that protects emergency care providers while allowing them the mobility and freedom to work.
“At New Orleans EMS, provider safety is our number one priority,” said Dr. Meg Marino, Director and Medical Director of New Orleans EMS. “When we learned about MBrace, we knew it was something we wanted to bring to our agency in support of that mission of provider safety.”
“Having the first Horton ambulance equipped with HOPS featuring MBrace deployed in an end-user’s fleet is an important milestone for our company and our industry. We are grateful to New Orleans EMS for taking the lead on raising the bar for EMS safety”, stated Mike Albers, Vice President and General Manager for Horton Emergency Vehicles. “We also appreciate the important role our dealer Southern Emergency & Rescue Vehicle Sales (SERVS) played in introducing New Orleans EMS to Horton vehicles and MBrace technology.”
“SERVS is proud to represent the Horton brand because they are continually on the leading edge of EMS safety,’ said Tim Hutchens, Director of Business Development for SERVS LLC. “Horton is the first and only brand in the ambulance industry to offer MBrace.”
HOPS featuring MBrace is standard equipment on all new Horton orders. Find out more information about MBrace at www.hortonambulance.com/mbrace and watch the New Orleans EMS video at New Orleans EMS Video.
