GROVE CITY, Ohio - Horton Emergency Vehicles, a subsidiary of REV Group Inc., and a leader in ambulance safety, will showcase the Horton Occupant Protection System™ (HOPS) featuring MBrace™, the first of its kind protection for first responders, at FDIC (Fire Department Instructors Conference) in Indianapolis, Indiana from April 27-29, 2023, Booth #4920.

This will be the first public showing of the game changer in EMS safety. MBrace will be on display in three trucks, providing FDIC attendees the opportunity to see the system up close and meet with Horton staff and dealers to learn more about it. One of the trucks is being shown courtesy of New Orleans (Louisiana) Emergency Medical Services and marks the first customer delivery of a Horton ambulance with MBrace installed.

“We are grateful to New Orleans Emergency Medical Services for allowing us to include their new Horton ambulance in this year’s show,” said Dave Marshall, Director of Sales, Horton Emergency Vehicles. “We’re excited that HOPS featuring MBrace will be on the streets protecting emergency care providers starting in May.”

Horton will have two other trucks on display with MBrace installed – the Horton 2023 National Show truck and an additional Horton demo truck.

The Horton 2023 National Show Truck is a Type 1 Ford F-550. In addition to featuring MBrace with mocked up deployed airbags, the truck is equipped with Horton’s Cool-Tech® III system that features a powerful 100,000 BTU cooling condenser on the roof, Austin Hardware’s new 02 lift, electrical system located in the front wall of ambulance to free up cabinet space. The electrical system is covered with acrylic in the show truck, to allow viewing. The National Show Truck also features a crash barrier/door forward design, Horton’s own design of a complete front bumper replacement with a brush guard component, electronic privacy windows, an ActivTek® Induct 500 air treatment system to reduce odors and microbial populations on surfaces, Horton Directional Safety Lights to help manage on scene traffic and much more.

The Horton booth will feature a third Type 1 F-550, courtesy of Horton dealer, FESCO Emergency Vehicles. In addition to the HOPS Featuring MBrace system, this truck includes Horton’s exclusive new i4G+ that serves as the central command on every Horton ambulance. I4G+ connects to critical systems such as lighting, HVAC, the HO2rton System and Horton 360, as well as vehicle diagnostics for components like Cool-Tech. The highly customizable system delivers flexibility and control features, with a programmable LCD touchscreen, to help save space on the front console and in the inhalation panel.

Visit the Horton Booth #4920 to meet with the team and learn more about HOPS featuring MBrace. Additional information about MBrace can be found directly across the aisle from Horton at the IMMI Booth #4632.
