Medtec Ambulance Displays Four Vehicles at Fire Rescue International

Goshen, Ind. - Medtec Ambulance Corporation, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) company, displayed four ambulances at the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Fire-Rescue International (FRI) Exhibits and Conference in Chicago, Ill. that began today and runs through August 28. Included are two ambulances at Medtec booth, #4336, and two at the Ford Chassis booth, #4416.

An Additional Duty (AD)-170 Type III ambulance from the Fishers Fire Department in Fishers, Ind. is displayed in the Medtec booth. Also in the booth is a Medtec AD-170 Type I ambulance built on a Freightliner chassis for the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District in Algonquin, Ill. The AD-170 offers the following features:

• Unitized body construction with cross members every 12-inches
• Side impact beam protection
• 74-inch floor to ceiling headroom
• Large sweep-out compartments with diamond plate wall construction and smooth aluminum floors for ease of cleaning
• Side entry stepwell and optional foldout safety step
• Steel sub-frame bumper with flip-up center section
• Whelen LED light package
• All aluminum C-channel style rubrails

The two vehicles in the Ford booth include an AD-170 ambulance from the Andalusia Fire Protection District in Andalusia, Ill. and a Medtec Professional Duty (PD)-168 Type III ambulance from the Waunakee Area Volunteer EMS Department in Waunakee, Wis. The PD-168 Type III ambulance offers the following key features:

• Ford E-450 cutaway chassis with 6.0 liter diesel engine
• 74-inch floor to ceiling headroom
• One-piece compartment and entry doors with heavy-duty locking paddle handles
• Padded radius cabinet corners for enhanced occupant protection
• Available ducted HVAC system with ceiling vents
• Printed circuit board with automatic reset circuit breakers
• Restocking cabinets
• Seamless, vacuum-formed squad bench with storage below
• Exterior compartment doors with gas charged hold opens
