THEODORE, Ala. — A volunteer fire department helped one of its captains reveal the gender of his baby with the help of a fire truck hose.
WKRG reported that Theodore Dawes Volunteer Fire Department Chief Terry Morgan got the idea to use the fire truck in the reveal when Captain Jonathan Bodin told him he and his wife were expecting their third child.
“When I told my wife, she was just as excited as I was to use the fire truck because it’s something that you don’t really see,” Captain Bodin said.
The couple bought two colors of dye, one pink and one blue, and gave the gender results, which they had not read, to Chief Morgan in a sealed envelope.
The Bodins were surprised by the results, which were revealed through pink water shooting out of the fire hose.
“Don’t think words could express the love, joy and excitement that we were feeling. A little girl is all we have wanted since we found out we were expecting. We already have two boys and were really hoping that we could get a little girl,” Captain Bodin said.
