NORFOLK, Va. — Thanks to an anonymous donor, a firefighter received a new kidney.
WAVY reported that Norfolk firefighter Wally Ching, a 30-year veteran, received a kidney transplant Tuesday. Last year, he was undergoing an annual firefighters’ physical when doctors diagnosed him with kidney disease.
“His family and friends are so thankful for this gift,” a Facebook page created for Ching said.
The surgery was successful and Ching is recovering.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Ching with medical costs.
