NORWALK, Conn. — An oxygen cylinder/regulator tank exploded on a transport gurney in the Norwalk Hospital ER, injuring an EMT who was transporting a patient.

According to News 8, the Norwalk Fire Department arrived at the ER to find an oxygen cylinder had exploded on a gurney during a patient transport.

The patient did not suffer any injuries from the explosion. Authorities said that one EMT attendant was treated for minor injuries and released. The second EMT helping to transport the patient was not injured.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found moderate dust conditions and no fire. The explosion did cause burn marks throughout the area.

The explosion is under investigation.
