HULBERT FIELD, Fla. — The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) announced on Oct. 25 the on-duty death of Captain Adam Wayne Hart of the Hurlburt Field, Fire & Emergency Services.

During his 48-hour shift on Oct. 5, Hart was found unresponsive on the floor inside his bunkroom. CPR was immediately performed by the fire department and medical personnel, to no avail, the USFA reported. Approximately one hour later, he was declared deceased.

The cause of his death has yet to be determined.

Hart’s obituary stated that he was an Air Force veteran and career firefighter. He joined the Upland Fire Department, and then the Air Force with dreams of being a military firefighter. Hart first worked at the Parris Island Fire Department before coming to the Hurlburt Fire Department.
