Bullard introduces three new thermal imagers sharper than ever

New QXT Pro, NXT Pro and DXT thermal imagers for the fire service

PRESS RELEASE

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Bullard, a global leader in thermal imaging for the fire service, announces three new thermal imagers, each including new X-Factor 2.0 Image Enhancement technology, high resolution, and expanded features. These new imagers – QXT Pro, NXT Pro, and DXT – round out Bullard’s full line of decision-making thermal imagers and will be available later this year. All safety testing and certifications will be completed in advance of the release date.

QXT Pro, NXT Pro, and DXT are the first thermal imagers to include Bullard X-Factor 2.0 Image Enhancement. This advanced technology sharpens the distinction between objects and backgrounds, optimizing the image for greater clarity. Elements like crisp white edge highlighting and exceptionally vivid images are key components of X-Factor 2.0 Image Enhancement. This technology helps firefighters recognize objects faster and identify flow patterns to understand scenes more quickly.

Advancement in image technology

Key features of X-Factor 2.0 Image Enhancement technology include the following:

  • Seamless Gain Transition: Eliminates forced shuttering when transitioning between hotter and cooler areas of the scene, providing a seamless viewing experience in changing scenes.
  • Sharpest Details: Features crisp white edge highlighting to make important details easy to identify and understand.
  • Fluid Viewing Technology: Provides smooth movement for fluid scenes through high refresh rates and fast image processing.
  • Super Red Hot Colorization: Offers consistent and transparent colorization to alert firefighters when temperatures approach a range that may begin to damage personal protective equipment.
  • People-Focus: Critical for victim search; provides a bright and detailed display, helping reveal people and items, even with high-heat elements elsewhere in the scene.

“We have a long history of listening to and engaging with firefighters as we develop new thermal imaging technology,” said Bullard CEO Wells Bullard. “These new XT Series Thermal Imagers are designed with firefighter input, helping provide critical information and bring efficiency to a variety of fire service tasks and applications, without sacrificing the proven durability of Bullard Thermal Imagers the fire service has come to trust.”
