STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — It was a happy moment captured on home video: Robert Foti dancing with his 4-year-old son, James, as “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” plays in the background.
The video, shot in December 2000 by Foti’s wife, Mary Grace, captures their last Christmas together. The 42-year-old firefighter from Long Island was killed nine months later in the terror attacks on Sept. 11. Today, the video serves as a moving tribute and bittersweet reminder of the tragedy 14 years ago.
“Bob never had the opportunity to even see James off to kindergarten ... now he just started college,” said Mary Grace, who recently posted the video on Facebook. It had approximately 75,000 views as of mid-afternoon Thursday.
