PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh arson investigators were called to four fires Sunday afternoon, officials said.
About 2 p.m., a three-alarm fire was reported at a vacant home in the 3400 block of Ridgway Street in the Hill District, which took firefighters about an hour and a half to bring under control.
At 4:45 p.m., emergency personnel responded to reports of a fire near Craig Street and Centre Avenue in Oakland, where firefighters said someone had attempted to light materials stuffed into the mail slot of a building under construction.
Around 5 p.m., firefighters responded to a small fire in a vacant house at Rosedale and Susquehanna streets in Homewood, which was quickly extinguished. A shift supervisor at the Emergency Operations Center said trash in a front bedroom was found burning, and firefighters at the scene reported and extinguished another small fire in a neighboring house.
None of the latter three fires was serious and no one was injured.
