WASHINGTON — D.C. Fire Chief Dennis Rubin says his department is getting out of the evidence storage business after about 200 cases of illegal fireworks and some seized cash disappeared.
Rubin said he is not happy about the disappearance, and he is going to find out who is responsible. He said the missing fireworks and $2,000 are evidence and their disappearance is suspicious.
“We’re positive they were not misplaced,” Rubin said. “I would have to use the description that they were stolen, but by who?”
