Detroit fire officials are warning residents and business owners of one or more imposters who have recently posed as an official Detroit Fire Marshal Division Fire Prevention inspector.
Since August, the imposters have collected money from business owners and residents.
Fire officials say members of the Detroit Fire Department never collect cash or checks in person, wear uniforms and badges when on duty and never solicit businesses.
