HARTFORD, Mich. — A Lawrence man who died from injuries suffered falling from a truck while working as a safety crew member at the Hartford Motor Speedway was not struck by a vehicle, an official said.
Harold Curtis, 36, died Saturday at Borgess Medical Center after falling from the back of a safety crew fire truck onto the race track in Van Buren County.
The Associated Press had reported that Curtis, a lieutenant at the Lawrence Township Fire Department, was apparently struck by a vehicle after falling.
