MARBLEHEAD, Mass. — On his first emergency call with the Marblehead Fire Department, Tucker Reece wound up tromping through the halls of Marblehead High School. It was his first visit there, for Reece was still in middle school.
Three years later, Reece’s friendship with the Fire Department is changing lives and perhaps even saving them. The 15-year-old high school sophomore wants to study fire science in college, then join the Marblehead Fire Department. Meanwhile, the department is searching for the right laptop computer that could give firefighters needed information at critical times, a computer that will be funded by a $6,000 donation from Reece and his mother.
“I harass them any time I can,” Reece said at the fire station on Ocean Avenue this week, where he dropped by after finishing an English midterm exam. “I love the job and I grew to know the people.”
