ST. LOUIS — Four St. Louis firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation at a hospital after their fire truck ignited inside their engine house, they said.
It happened around 4 a.m. Sunday at Engine House 24.
Darian Benford said he was on watch duty, while other firefighters slept. They had returned from a call about an hour earlier. He smelled smoke and found the engine of their pumper truck was on fire, he said.
