APOPKA, Fla. — An Apopka firefighter who was seriously injured fighting a Wednesday morning blaze went through surgery in the afternoon. Family and friends were hoping for good news on his condition.
Two other firefighters injured battling the blaze were treated and released from area hospitals. The most seriously injured, John Rodgers, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The men were battling a house fire on Tanglewilde St. in Apopka. A partial roof collapse hurt the firefighters.
