Firefighter facing hit-and-run, drunk driving charges

Witnesses said Christopher Allen extensively damaged a car with his truck and fled the scene when his wife arrived

ARDMORE, Okla. — A firefighter was arrested and faces hit-and-run charges after allegedly driving drunk and fleeing the scene of a crash.

KXII reported that firefighter Christopher Allen was arrested after allegedly hitting a car with his truck and causing extensive damage while driving drunk, according to witnesses.

A witness said he attempted to get Allen to stay on the scene, but Allen’s wife arrived and he got into her truck.

Allen’s wife said she also attempted to get him to stay on the scene, but he got out of her vehicle and ran a quarter mile to his home.

Police arrested Allen after finding him in his garage. He faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident involving damage.

The fire department said they are also investigating the incident.
