NEW YORK — A third member of the FDNY was diagnosed with COVID-19 late Monday.

The New York Daily News reported that FDNY officials announced a third member of the department was diagnosed with the virus after an EMT and a fire captain tested positive last week.

“A third FDNY member has tested positive for COVID-19,” the FDNY said in a statement. “This member contracted the illness through community exposure and has been self-quarantined.”

According to the Daily News, more than 30 FDNY members are under self-quarantine while waiting to be tested.
