NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — A firefighter was released from the hospital after spending 55 days on ventilator due to complications from COVID-19.
News 12 Westchester reported that Deputy Chief John Reed was released from Danbury Hospital in Connecticut after fighting the virus for nearly two months. Dozens of family members and fellow first responders greeted Reed outside with applause.
Reed’s fellow firefighters told reporters his recovery feels like a miracle.
