A witness said the plane was like a “big black solid red ball of fire”

WEBER COUNTY, Utah — A small plane crash killed four people Wednesday afternoon.

KUTV reported that the plane was “trying to gain altitude” by traveling south, according to witness Randy Paulson.

Paulson said the plane made a “super loud sound” when it was about 300 feet in the air and dropped vertically toward a highway.

“It was a big black solid red ball of fire,” Paulson said. “There’s no way you could’ve survived it.”

Authorities have not confirmed what led to the crash. We will update you once more information becomes available.
