BURRILLVILLE, R.I. — A firefighter died after collapsing at a house fire, according to officials.
Turn to 10 reported that the 40-year Pascoag Fire Department veteran, 74, was helping extinguish a chimney fire when he collapsed.
Colleagues administered CPR on the firefighter before he was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
“At this time, we’d like to have people say prayers for the family and their children and grandchildren. This just doesn’t affect the Burrillville companies. This affects all firemen and policemen and EMS in the field nationwide,” Pascoag Fire Department Deputy Chief Keith Carter said.
