FARMERVILLE, La. — A former fire chief from Luna County has been arrested in Union Parish, Louisiana on a warrant accusing him of embezzlement.
Sheriff Bob Buckley says 43-year-old Tony Anderson, who was living in Bernice, was arrested Friday and booked into the Union Parish Detention Center as a fugitive. Anderson was fire chief for the Florida Volunteer Fire Department.
Sheriff’s detective Sgt. Bobby Robinson says the Luna County Sheriff’s Office told him that the former fire chief was wanted in connection with the embezzlement of more than $2,500 but less than $20,000 in money and equipment from the fire department.
The News-Star reports that Anderson was awaiting extradition to Luna County.
