WINNIPEG, Manitoba — A Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service supervisor suffered minor injuries this morning when he was assaulted while responding to a call in the North End.

Police said the supervisor was sitting in his parked vehicle when the assault occurred about 2:30 a.m. in the area of Selkirk Avenue and Charles Street.

The supervisor was writing notes about the call at the time. He did not require medical attention for his injuries.

Police said the person who allegedly assaulted him was not related to the call for service.

The suspect was arrested a short distance away and is in custody, police said.
