BOSTON — A Boston firefighter is under investigation after he allegedly made threatening remarks to a fire commander, which included references to ex-LAPD gunman Christopher Dorner.
The firefighter reportedly told the commander over the phone “I am Army trained and have weapons and ammunitions in a storage locker. Dorner will be child’s play,” police said in a statement.
Dorner was a former LAPD officer who killed four people and injured three others before apparently committing suicide following a days-long manhunt.
After the unidentified firefighter made his statements, investigators were called to the Boston Fire Department, according to Boston.com.
The commander said that he and other union representatives had called the firefighter to check on his well-being.
In addition to his threats, he said that he was “upset with City Hall, Fire Department Headquarters and the Firefighters Union Hall.”
Witnesses say the firefighter previously “expressed displeasure” with a fire department doctor and seemed upset that he could not see his personal doctor before he had to return to work.
The firefighter has been summoned to court for a clerk’s hearing on March 4.
