Listen to the radio transmissions between responders and dispatch during response to shooting at the Umpqua Community College

ROSEBURG, Ore. — Listen to the scanner traffic as authorities respond to the mass shooting at the Umpqua Community College.

According to the audio, a man with a “long gun” began shooting through a classroom door at the college’s Snyder Hall.

Minutes later a responder is heard saying, “Exchanging shots with him. He’s in the classroom on the southeast side of Snyder Hall.”

Another responder said there were about 35 people in the classroom.

Minutes later: “Code 4. Suspect is down.”
