DULUTH, Minn. — Authorities are crediting the quick actions of an off-duty Duluth firefighter for reviving a referee at a high school hockey game.
The Duluth News Tribune reported that referee Pat Milinovich collapsed between the second and third periods of Saturday’s game between Duluth Marshall and Crookston.
Brad Bushey, an off-duty Duluth firefighter, and others dashed from the stands to lend a hand. Bushey told the newspaper the referee looked blue and wasn’t breathing. He said he immediately began administering CPR and re-established a heartbeat, and the referee began breathing on his own.
Milinovich’s condition wasn’t released by hospital staff Sunday.
