BIO-key Announces Additional Contracts for Recently Launched FireRMS Mobile™

BIO-key Awarded 34 Contracts in First Nine Months of FireRMS Mobile Deployment
Santa Rosa and Modesto latest agencies to deploy

WALL, N.J., – BIO-key International Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BKYI), a leader in wireless public safety solutions and finger based biometric identification, today announced that the Santa Rosa and Modesto California Fire Departments, current BIO-key Fire Records Management System (FireRMS™) clients, have purchased FireRMS Mobile to streamline their building inspection process. The purchase of FireRMS mobile by these agencies reflects wide scale acceptance of the release that was only launched in March of 2006.

The Santa Rosa and Modesto Fire Departments have been BIO-key FireRMS customers since 2003 protecting approximately 365,000 citizens with more than 295 career firefighters. The addition of the FireRMS Mobile units will expedite building inspections, occupancy permits and violation reporting performed on premises through electronic signature capture and wireless data transfer.

Performing inspections with BIO-key’s FireRMS Mobile units will be a great time saver for our department,” stated Jackie Reese, Administrative Technician with Santa Rosa Fire Department. “With FireRMS Mobile our inspectors can capture information and immediately update our records electronically while they are in the field. This assures data accuracy, and eliminates the need to re-type data into the system, transcription errors, and administrative work associated with hard copy forms.”

“The Modesto Fire Department plans to utilize FireRMS Mobile for building inspections as well” stated Deborah Espinoza from the Modesto Fire Department cited BIO-key’s proven store and forward functionality of the mobile application as a key benefit for their inspectors that often perform services in locations that normally don’t receive a wireless signal.

“We are extremely satisfied with the acceptance rate associated with the launch of FireRMS Mobile. This product enhancement represents more than $12 million in potential growth from our existing installed base of over 500 Fire & EMS agencies alone,” said Anthony Barone, Vice President and General Manager of BIO-key’s Fire and EMS Business Unit. “Our FireRMS customers are adding FireRMS Mobile because it offers a plethora of features including the ability to more efficiently manage the first responder, inspection and EMS services they perform in the field. Additionally, our software not only provides real time updates to information agencies are collecting, but is also more accurate and requires less labor than the traditional paper-based process that it replaces.”
