BIO-key® Awarded Contract for Fire RMS™ and FireRMS™ Mobile by Davenport, Iowa

City Enlists FireRMS™ Mobile to Expedite Inspections

WALL, NJ – BIO-key International Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BKYI), a leader in wireless public safety solutions and finger based biometric identification, today announced that Davenport, Iowa will implement BIO-key’s FireRMS™ Enterprise Edition and FireRMS™ Mobile solutions. Davenport’s Fire Department will convert their paper record management system to BIO-key’s FireRMS™ advanced record management system and implement FireRMS™ Mobile to facilitate inspections. The contract award is valued at $103,400.

The Davenport Fire Department listed a lengthy inspection process as a reason for switching to FireRMS™ Mobile to perform field inspections. “We inspect over 14,000 rental properties each year,” said Brian Jacobsen of the Davenport Fire Department. “With our current system, our inspectors perform the inspection in the field and then have to come back to the station to re-enter the information. The process was time consuming, a duplication of effort and subject to errors. We needed an application that would help us shorten the entire inspection to reporting process.”

“Almost every fire department uses some combination of company inspections and/or fire inspectors to check occupancies for compliance with fire prevention guidelines. And the majority still rely on paper forms for the task,” said Anthony Barone, Vice President and General Manager of BIO-key’s Fire and EMS Division. “Any delays in getting this information processed presents safety concerns. With FireRMS™ Mobile, agencies can perform field inspections and gather signatures, upload reports with remote real-time access directly into FireRMS™ and push that data to first responders,” concluded Mr. Barone.
