RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas — Video posted online shows an Urban Search & Rescue team rescuing a horse from rising flood waters in Rio Grande City, Texas.
The horse was entangled in a mesquite tree and unable to move, prompting a response from volunteer firefighters, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Footage show the firefighters positioning motorized rafts on the left and right sides of the horse, and then securing the animal in the middle with harnesses before slowly pulling it through the water.
The team had previously responded to south Texas in the wake of Hurricane Alex.
