KALISPELL, MT - Nomad Technologies is providing critical communications to several fire crews in Idaho and Montana. A state of emergency was declared in Montana on Sunday because of several large wildfires, including one that has crept to within a mile of several homes and destroyed at least one.
Nomad is currently assisting with the Skyland Fire and Brush Creek Fire in Northwestern Montana. The Skyland fire is an estimated 33,430 acres burned south of Glacier National Park. The fire is 40 percent contained. The Brush Creek fire is an estimated 18,927 acres, or 29.5 square miles, and has burned in the Flathead and the Kootenai national forests, west of Whitefish. Nomad is also assisting the Rattlesnake fire in the Nez Perce National Forest and Poe Cabin Fire near Craig Mountain - both in Idaho.
