PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. — A driver was killed when their car collided with a Virginia county fire apparatus at a separate crash scene on Wednesday.
Virginia State Police say the Prince George County apparatus was stopped in the left lane of I-95 northbound when the car slammed into the back of the apparatus, killing the driver instantly, according to The Progress-Index. The posted speed limit on the stretch of highway where the crash occurred was 70 miles per hour.
No one was inside the stopped fire apparatus at the time of the collision and no public safety personnel were injured. The apparatus sustained damage to its back right side and the other vehicle was totaled.
