S.C. FF charged with DUI after flipping fire truck
Firefighter John Hendrix Jr. is under arrest for allegedly driving a fire apparatus under the influence and crashing it

STARR, S.C. — A volunteer firefighter was charged with driving under the influence after crashing and flipping a fire truck while on duty.
Starr Fire Department Firefighter John Russel Hendrix Jr. was arrested after he ran the fire truck he was driving off the side of the road, hitting a culvert and a highway sign before flipping the apparatus, WSPA reported.
Hendrix was transported to the hospital with minor injuries before being transferred to Anderson County Detention Center on DUI charges.
Another SFD member was in the fire truck when it flipped but was not hurt.
