MARSHFIELD, Mo. — Marshfield Lt. Matthew Blankenship died early Saturday morning from injuries sustained battling a house fire last week.
Lt. Blankenship had been in the hospital in critical condition since July 13. He was working the interior of a residential structure fire when conditions deteriorated, trapping him. Fellow firefighters rescued him and rushed him to the hospital.
