AURORA, Colo. — A firefighting couple who had just undergone a live fire training session got engaged at the drillground.
According to a Facebook post, the Sable Altura Fire Department was hosting a live fire training session for the Byers Fire Protection District when things got a little more romantic than expected.
“Our drillground has seen countless trainings and tests over the years but today's live burn that was hosted for Byers Fire Protection District was definitely a little bit different,” SAFD said.
After the session, BFPD firefighter Andrew Koleway proposed to his girlfriend and colleague, Angie Brummage.
“Oftentimes our staffs’ days are filled with responding to those in need during some of their worst days of their lives,” BFPD said in a Facebook post. “They tend to see lots of negativity. It was such a refreshing experience to watch these two, two of our best firefighters, be able to express their love for one another in their engagement.”
