KINLOCH, Mo. — A firefighter was shot after leaving the fire station.

Kinloch Fire Protection District Firefighter Jared Williams was shot in his right arm during a drive-by shooting as he was leaving the fire station, Fox 2 Now reported.

Williams was 150 feet from the station when the shooting occurred, a statement from Fire Chief Kevin Stewart said. Crewmembers immediately began providing medical treatment and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

“[By God’s grace he is expected to make a full complete recovery,” Stewart’s statement read. “Thank you to the community and all our fire service and public safety partner for your thoughts and prayers and support for FF Williams, his family and the Kinloch Fire Protection District.”
