WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The Walla Walla Fire Department announced the on-duty death of one of its firefighters.
In a Facebook post, the department stated that Fire Engineer Ryan Pleasants, a 20-year veteran of the department, died while on duty on Jan. 7.
“Ryan will be forever missed by all his brothers and sisters of the WWFD,” the department stated. “Our deepest condolences go out to his Family and his community.”
Pleasants was a Firefighter/Medic for 19 years before being promoted to engineer in July.
The cause of death was not released. Memorial service information will be released at a later time.
