Duty Death: Selinde Rooseburg - [Ohio Township]

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A wildland firefighter died from her injuries incurred after a UTV rollover while working a controlled burn.
Selinde Roosenburg, 20, was participating in a controlled burn with the Ohio Division of Natural Resources Division of Forestry team on March 23 at Richland Furnace State Forest when she was involved in a UTV accident.
Roosenburg died from her injuries on March 25.
Described as a passionate student of forest conservation, Roosenburg had recently been accepted into the Fire Science program at Idaho State University, with plans to pursue a career in wildland fire and forestry, according to ODNR.
