PESHAWBESTOWN, Mich. — Grand Traverse Band Fire Rescue is mourning the loss of one of its own after Firefighter-EMT David McDonald Jr. was found unresponsive at the station on March 17.
McDonald, a 15-year veteran, was found on the bay floor by a fellow firefighter, according to a death notification by the U.S. Fire Administration.
“GTB Fire Rescue and Firefighter McDonald’s loved ones appreciate the outpouring of support from the community,” a statement from the department read. “During the time that Firefighter McDonald served our community he touched many lives. His memory will live on through his brothers and sisters in the fire service.”
