CUSTER, S.D. — The family of a firefighter who died en route to the High Plains Fire announced funeral services for Dwain Hudson, but have asked that it be close family and friends.

Family members have asked three local fire departmens and ambulance service to attend the services on April 27, the Argyle Volunteer Fire Department posted on its Facebook page.

According to the fire department, Hudson was en route to a wildland fire on April 17, when he experienced a medical emergency.

Members of his department immediately provided emergency medical aid until the local ambulance arrived. He was taken to a local hospital, but later died.

The department has asked all condolences be sent to: Argyle Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 176, Pringle, SD 57773.
