This week’s Photo of the Week comes from the Grantsboro Volunteer Fire Department and shows the homecoming of Firefighter Maegan Speciale, who was seriously injured after being struck by a car while on duty.
Speciale was struck while directing traffic during a mutual aid response to a Beaufort County fire in March, according to WCTI 12. After four months of treatment and recovery, Speciale received a warm welcome back to her home in Pamlico County, with a parade featuring dozens of emergency vehicles.
“Maegan is home! She still has a ways to go but definitely moving in the right direction!” the department wrote on Facebook on Monday.
