LOS ANGELES — Firefighters rescued a hawk tangled in fishing line strung between a tall tree and a utility pole on Sunday.
A Los Angeles Fire Department ladder truck and engine company responded to the scene, extending an aerial ladder 40 feet to reach the bird stranded above utility lines.
Video shows the firefighters cutting a filament line to release the flailing animal.
The hawk was placed in a lightweight sack and handed over to the Department of Animal Services.
